Functional, facility-focused websites that serve the community.

Challenges
The Hammond Parks and Recreation Department oversees multiple high-use community facilities that serve very different purposes from youth and tournament sports to job fairs, civic functions, large-scale events, and public programming. Each location needed a dedicated website that clearly communicated what the facility offers, who it serves, and how to engage with it.
The challenge was to create separate facility websites that could stand on their own while still feeling connected under one municipal department umbrella.
Goals
This project focused on building practical, user-centered websites that function as operational tools as much as marketing platforms.
Key goals included:
-
Create dedicated, easy-to-navigate websites for each major facility
-
Clearly communicate facility capacity, amenities, and use cases
-
Reduce confusion and inquiry friction through better structure and clarity
-
Maintain brand and structural consistency across all Parks & Recreation facilities
Our Approach
We worked closely with department stakeholders to understand how each facility operates, what questions they receive most often, and what information visitors and event planners need first. From there, we built a repeatable page architecture that could be customized for each location while maintaining a unified framework.
Each website was structured around real user needs, booking, planning, attending, and participating. The result is a group of sites that are easier to manage internally and easier to use externally.

"The Branding Room Floor is truly a partner to Hammond Water Works. They work alongside our team, understand our goals, and provide the marketing support we need.
